Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Intervention Coordinator
CurrentAs the Department Head of the CECCS Science Department, I create and implement curriculum for various science classes, monitor department progress towards instructional goals, and provide support to students and science faculty. I currently teach Physical Science. Past teaching has also included Earth and Space Science, 060 Math, and 090 Math.Leadership roles have included serving as the Multi-Tiered System of Support Intervention Coordinator for multiple years. I lead a team of administrators, faculty, and staff in intervention plan development and implementation through the utilization of a problem-solving model and team-driven shared leadership. In the fall of 2017 I applied for and was selected to participate in the Colorado Department of Education MTSS multi-year grant. My acting duties include managing the grant for CECCS. The CECCS Administration have identified me as a Master Teacher and Mentor Teacher. I provide instructional coaching to 6 faculty members. Duties include weekly observations, written feedback, real time coaching, debriefing sessions, and progress monitoring to track mastery of instructional goals. I also create and deliver school-wide professional development utilizing both adult learning strategies and Quantum Learning techniques.Additional volunteer positions have included serving on the National Honor Society Faculty Selection Council and serving as the Sources of Strength Upstream Suicide Prevention Program Coordinator.
