As a post graduate researcher, I conducted research from planning to dissemination as a contribution toward my doctorate (PhD) on the quantification of running gait using accelerometry. This long-term project delved into the kinetics and kinematics of running gait including links with running performance and possible relationship to injury. Here, I created a novel analytical approach named GaiT to analyse raw accelerometry data that numerically quantified an individual’s running gait using harmonics, spectral purity and correlation symmetry. As a lecturer in sport, physical activity, exercise, health and rehabilitation, I used my advanced knowledge, teaching and learning skills to deliver key research information to large numbers of learners. Previously, I worked across boundaries between academia, health, wellness and sport, where I collaborated with local stakeholders for over a decade in differing roles. I am well-rehearsed in facilitating cross-collaborative partnerships, revenue streams and research outputs. I have effectively co-produced grant applications for research, innovation and enterprise funding. For example, developing, integrating and evaluating public health programming. I have vast experience in physical activity, exercise and health interventions, evaluation and best practice dissemination. My fortitude and resilience have enabled me to succeed both personally and professionally using my unique skills, knowledge and experience. I will continue to achieve significant outputs in every new chapter of my career.
