Taught volunteer teachers at free learning center, including lesson planning and appropriate child development curriculum. Taught one on one reading lessons at a rural school in the mornings and afternoons. Helped develop and promote the Learning Center and Recycling Center by making repairs, painting, and landscaping. Lead and developed a helmet safety campaign, educating young Thai students about safety on the road, and the importance of wearing a helmet.

Voluntarily organised and lead a local women’s group focusing on increasing women’s rights through local events and workshops within the Gangseo suburb of Seoul.

Comstock High School

Instructed senior grade students in English and language arts courses. Lessons included literature analysis for two novels, reflective essay writing and the writing process, short story multi-genre project and peer education and group learning. Worked with and adapted lessons for students of varying learning and emotional disabilities. Collaborated efficiently with all members of faculty to efficiently make connections between curriculums. Motivated students to set goals with activities including focusing on and displaying goal grades. Effectively completed logistical activities such as evaluating papers, updating grades, and attendance.

As Co-Chair, planned, organized, and monitored local and national volunteer trips, varying from 50-80 participants, events and interviews involving organization collaborating with site leaders and e-board.As Site Leader, arranged a week long volunteer trip and was responsible for a group of twelve college students to Biloxi, Mississippi. Lead and motivated them, while volunteering by their side, cleaning up after Hurricane Katrina and helping the people in need.

Taught and mentored 29 first-year students (17-19 year olds), 4-hour First Year Experience course. Developed classroom lesson plans, facilitated in-class activities, and managed the class, collaborating with a Western Michigan professor. Assisted in the transitioning from high school to college, using various methods to assist undecided students. Worked with diverse population of students, including those on probation for academics and students with learning and emotional disabilities. Scheduled weekly speakers and field trips that highlighted resources students could use to succeed in college. Managed all grading, homework and attendance throughout semester.
