I am currently a band 6 CAMHS Practitioner within the Locality Team. My role is to be the main key mental health worker for a selection of primary schools and secondary schools within the Doncaster area. My role is to provide low level support and advice to schools around their concerns with their students mental health difficulties. I offer monthly consultation clinics whereby discuss the children and discuss various interventions and offer advice about the wider services available to support the young person. If required I will complete a short piece of work with the young person this could be by gathering information about their lived experiences and finding out how their mental health difficulties can affect their day to day life. I can also educate on emotional regulation and other coping mechanisms. I work in a multi-disciplinary way and ensure I am aware of the wider community services and professionals which could also help support the young person and families.I still am required to maintain my social work England registration for this role.

Family time contact workerWorking with families - My job within Families Forward is to supervise contact between children and their parents, often there is situations that have arisen that lead to Contact Parent needing constant or intermittent supervision while seeing their children. I have to ensure and maintain an impartial and unbiased stance towards the parents and ensure that the children are comfortable and safe at all times.Comprehensive case management - For this role I write an observation report of each contact. This needs to be accurate and concise as each report can form part of the evidence presented in Court proceedings.Liaison with parents - At the end of each contact session it is very important that both parents are fully updated of the nature of the session and are informed of any incidents that may have occurred during the session. Because of the nature of problems that bring parents to need the service is it very important that these debriefs are in-depth and keep both parents abreast of the issues.
