Dr Danielle Verdon-Kidd is an Associate Professor in the School of Environmental and Life Sciences at the University of Newcastle. Her primary research focuses on identifying the drivers of climate variability and change in Australia and the Pacific and assessing how to use these insights to improve natural resource management. Danielle has expertise in integrating information from the palaeoclimate records, the instrumental records and Global Climate Models to better assess climate driven risks, with focus on hydrological extremes and how these may change in the future. Danielle has published in the fields of drought research, hydrology, tropical cyclones/storms, stochastic climate generation, climate impact assessment and adaptation planning. In addition to traditional academic research, Danielle has carried out several projects, within the consulting environment, aimed at helping clients to assess their vulnerability to climate variability/change and their ability to adapt to climate driven risks.
