Sustainment Operations Leadership Development (SOLD) is designed to develop and retain mid-career professionals working in Sustainment Operations. The program's two main objectives are to develop participants' leadership skills and enhance their sustainment business acumen. This program targets level 3 and 4 employees within the Sustainment Operations organization. Participants in the SOLD program complete two, one-year rotations with each year culminating with the completion of a business project.

Responsible for kit management activities for assigned F-35 Change Requests and Modification Kit Parts Lists (MKPLs) through all life cycle phases from initial approval through delivery of modification kits to support aircraft modifications. Responsible for communicating updated status on all assigned kits to internal and external customers.

Responsible for the development, definition, and management of the scope, schedule, and budget for the work contained in associated control accounts. Utilizes Earned Value (EV) Management skills in measuring project performance and progress, developing and managing budget baselines, creating integrated master schedules, and analyzing financial variances. Helps to develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of innovation and follow through. Work with program management and other areas of the business for timely conclusion of contract matters and resolution of issues. Work is performed without significant direction. Duties also include development of proposals estimates for man-hours, material dollars, staffing plans and all other related costs. Supports and/or leads negotiations and compliance reviews with government customer, technical personnel and other functional organizations.

Participates in key elements of the configuration management and/or the data management processes for monitoring contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the integrity and achievement of required production standards for helicopter systems and product configurations. Monitor and track delivery of required systems and subsystems required to meet production schedules.  Enter and track shortages and document deficiencies in established automated data systems.  Prepares documentation on external reports for program leadership review. Participates in associated design reviews, recommends developments, audits, scheduling and budgeting.  Work with internal and external suppliers to ensure on time delivery of parts to production line.

Support the H-1 Program using Earned Value Management. Provide Program Management and Finance organizations the information necessary to effectively manage and report program cost and schedule data. Ensure timely and accurate completion of programs goals and objectives. Support Control Account Managers (CAM) and the EV Toolset with material EV status for all material work packages.   Create baseline targets to measure cost and schedule, through the analysis of certified bill of material, accounting factors, latest cost estimates and trends. Proactively work with Program Managers and CAMs to identify negative program financial trends.
