The four cornerstones of our mission are preservation, rehabilitation, revitalization, and advocacy. Oversee all preservation projects, strategy, and advocacy efforts. Manage preservation staff. Work closely with Property Committee and Board of Trustees, as well as assist individual homeowners and volunteers. •Oversee building maintenance, restoration work, and programming of Historic Richmond owned property. •Provide technical assistance to significant historic properties. •Oversee Revolving Fund strategy and projects.•Manage easements and rights of first refusals.•Work with City and State on preservation planning efforts•Lead advocacy efforts for the rehabilitation and reuse of historic properties in the City.•Create educational programming for lecture series and events.•Expand and diversify the narrative of historic preservation.

•Manage preservation-related projects including restoration and conservation of Foundation-owned properties.•Monitor properties which come before the Commission of Architectural Review, City demolition list, and other at-risk properties.•Manage easement program.•Coordinate and manage the Church Hill Plaque Program.•Assist with planning and developing educational materials for programs and events.

•Collaborate on all aspects of historic and architectural projects. •Coordinate, conduct, and report reconnaissance and intensive level architectural field survey in accordance with industry standards for public and private sector clients. •Prepare National Register nominations, HABS/HAER packages, and existing condition surveys. •Assist with archaeological survey, measured drawings, monitoring, and project management.•Promote Dutton + Associates services, assist with marketing initiatives, and contribute to business proposals.

•Assisted easement program staff with coordination and oversight of properties under preservation easement to ensure compliance with terms of easement and preservation of the property. •Monitored easement properties by conducting site visit inspections, photo documenting the property, and preparing condition reports.

•Assessed conditions, photo documented, and performed archival research of religious properties. •Surveyed conditions and took measured drawings of historic sites. •Conducted on-site inventory and cursory evaluation of granite.

•Examined a material science approach to preservation maintenance. •Topics included preservation of existing structures, maintenance of new structures, masonry decay processes, technology of cleaning masonry structures, mortar repair, masonry conservation, and health and environmental hazards in preservation.

•Used various methods of research such as physical evaluation, historic fire insurance maps, municipal archives, tax records, and other historic information to document buildings for the Historic Building Survey of the East Village. Surveyed nearly one hundred lots in the East Village, which GVSHP used to assess the neighborhood's historic significance and make recommendations for individual landmarks and/or historic districts. •Documented architects of buildings within the proposed East Village Historic District. •Studied and evaluated the appropriateness of ironwork alterations. Collected and interpreted permits recently granted to buildings in Greenwich Village in order to determine if recent alterations were performed legally.

•Eight week program through the University of Florida which offers student participants experiential or hands-on learning in cultural heritage, documentation, management, and conservation. •Conducted a comprehensive existing conditions assessment of the Boston-Higginbotham House, a late eighteenth-century structure that had been substantially modified over time by two prominent African-American families on Nantucket. The results were used by the Museum of African American History in Boston, Massachusetts, the owner of the property, to help guide decisions on rehabilitating the house. •Documented and researched the Maria Mitchell House, an historic house museum interpreting and celebrating the life and achievements of Maria Mitchell. Researched and synthesized the current physical conditions of the house, identified and assessed the needs of the current users, and proposed a holistic management plan for the ongoing maintenance, interpretation, and conservation of the house. •Took field measurements and created Historic American Building Survey-quality AutoCAD drawings of the New Kitchen of the Maria Mitchell House. •Performed paint and mortar analysis on historic structures.

•Managed Advertising, Sales, and Graphics Department.•Established and maintained relationships with advertising clients. •Used Photoshop, InDesign, FileMaker Pro, and QuickBooks.
