• Led and mentored a group of four engineers to successfully design, integrate and maintain flight deck stowage and linings systems for four wide body airplane models and their derivatives. Responsibilities included: owning configuration throughout the product lifecycle; systems integration across the value stream; feasibility studies; risk management; leading configuration development; cross-functional collaboration; design for manufacturing; recurring cost and labor reduction; global supplier coordination; emergent event resolution; cost and labor estimating; spatial integration; mentoring. • Initiated and led several Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFMA) projects to reduce the recurring cost of flight deck stowage on 777-8. Performed trade study to identify parts that were unnecessarily complex, a safety hazard or had alternatives that reduced cost and/or weight. Results reduced labor and part cost and increased production safety.• Developed the project plan and led the product development, mockup and certification testing of a tablet mounting system for the 777-8 and 787 flight decks. Results led to the certification of the systems achieving customer-centric business objectives.

• Simultaneously project managed and led several interdisciplinary teams through the product development flight and lab testing process to achieve multinational airplane certification. Responsibilities included: product research and development; managing multiple simultaneous projects; test plan detailing; multidisciplinary collaboration and communication; supplier schedule coordination; cost estimating; risk management. • Led and project managed a cross-functional team to install and certify a complex head up display system on 737-9. Results allowed the system to be installed on the flight test airplanes to facilitate flight testing and increase accuracy of results. • Led and project managed a multidisciplinary team to determine ground vibration characteristics of rudder and elevator of the 777-8. Created project plan including scope development, stakeholder communication plan, schedule development, build sites coordination and risk management. Results ensured that the physical characteristics of the rudder and elevator were known before the components are installed on the airplane. Testing these components is an important risk mitigation to develop a flutter profile for use during flight testing.

• Designed 767 wing structures. Responsibilities included: project management; change management; cross-functional collaboration; configuration management; supplier capability coordination; spatial integration; cost and manufacturing flow estimating.• Conducted root cause analysis, re-design, and design verification testing of the 767 upper leading-edge wing skin panel to eliminate trim requirements. Developed validation aides and test method to ensure technical requirements were met. Results reduced the manufacturing flow time, reducing the safety risk to the employees, and eliminated the need for new trim tool avoiding approximately $950,000 in capital investment.• Performed root cause analysis, re-design, and verification of the fuel jettison fairings on 767. Conducted root cause analysis and developed a solution that allowed the fairings fit consistently, updated the engineering definition, and coordinated with the supplier and stakeholders to get the hydroform molds modified. Results eliminated recurring rework and shortened workflow.

• Served as a manufacturing engineer in a large-scale manufacturing environment. Responsibilities included: reviewing design engineering for completeness and producibility; authoring and communicating manufacturing build plans; auditing design/build planning; large scale integration of internal and external partner sites. • Joined a tiger team responsible for the redesign and quick implementation of the 787-8 wing to body join enabling first flight. Validated build requirements, tooling and producibility prior to engineering release and preloaded build planning for near simultaneous release. Results led to the early identification of problems with tooling and build sequencing prior to engineering release facilitating first pass quality. • Authored commitment development schedules (CDS) between partner sites, final assembly, and common structures life cycle product teams for the 787-9 aft body work package. CDSs control the part flow and scheduling through the build process. Results provided a comprehensive plan and understanding among the collaborating sites of part on-dock need dates and routing, installation dates, and configuration requirements throughout the build cycle.
