Month Long commitment, not including practices. Danielle will work every night for four hours rain, snow or shine! She is in charge of clearing a path through the crowd while leading a line of drummers, dancers and color guard performers out to and from the street. Interacts with children and required to be festive and energetic. She must always be courteous and polite!

Danielle was selected as the one of five freshmen to participate in this selective program chosen by teachers, students, and other school leaders. Here is the description: The 2017-2018 school-year marks a new direction for student government at FR. The Goal Ambassadors will function as a student council that works collectively and collaboratively as a team to create a campus atmosphere that reflects the Spirit of Forest Ridge, in all its many forms.The main goal of each Goal Ambassador group is to create an atmosphere of community and understanding of the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria. Goal Ambassadors will work with the HS ASB to develop and implement student ideas around events, activities, campus-wide campaigns.Qualities of an effective Goal Ambassadors:· Vision around developing a new program· Strong understanding of the FR Goals and Criteria· Comfortable speaking in public and or a willingness to learn· Strong organization skills and the ability to follow through on details· Creative problem solving and ideas· Ability to build and combine ideas into a plan· Willingness to listen to a wide variety of ideas.· Owning your own engagement and following through on commitments· Asking for assistance and/or support when needed· Strong pride in FR and the Raven community· A willingness to be coached in areas of leadership

Danielle was selected as a peer educator her freshman year. Eight girls were selected and Danielle was the youngest. What is the Peer Educator program?It's an exciting new leadership and training program for high school students that promotes education and awareness of health and wellness issues facing young women today. What do Peer Educators do?First- identify health and wellness issues that are important to you and your classmates. Second- educate yourselves on these issues with. Third- generate awareness by presenting in classes, creating advisory plans, sharing at Homeroom, providing wellness resources for peers. The possibilities are endless!What are qualities that you are looking for in a peer educator?We are looking for leaders who take initiative, are positive, open-minded, and CREATIVE!

Teens In Public Service is a not-for-profit dedicated to developing future leaders committed to their communities. TIPS selects teenage leaders for paid community service internships and pairs them with charitable organizations over the summer. Teens in public service is highly selective and only awards to worthy applicants. This year almost 300 people applied and only 53 got an internship. Danielle was skilled enough to get one of these internships and is extremely grateful.

Danielle is spending her first summer working at Young Women Empowered, a non-profit in Seattle dedicating to helping women. Y-WE empowers young women from diverse backgrounds to step up as leaders in their schools, communities and the world. We do this through intergenerational mentorship, intercultural collaboration, and creative programs that equip girls with the confidence, resiliency, and leadership skills needed to achieve their goals and improve their communities.

Youth Advocates/Outreach Workers are the face of Teen Link. They are out in the community, talking about real issues that impact young people’s lives, and learning how they can create change. They make sure people know who we are and what we do by: attending events in the community, such as concerts, fairs and festivals; visiting other agencies that serve youth; making and putting up posters and distributing Teen Link materials; recruiting other volunteers; attending monthly community outreach meetings. Youth Advocates/Outreach Workers also work independently on projects they develop together. These projects are geared toward raising awareness to important issues that impact youth and identifying ways to create change.
