I dream of establishing a multi-stakeholder cooperative that has a direct impact on the well-being of the inhabitants of Brussels. More concretely, the principal objective of the cooperative will be to enlarge and renovate the supply of rental housing in the Brussels Capital Region.That's why I set up a website: www.whatt.eu. It includes a blogging platform that allows for action, reaction and interaction with the large public. It is meant for people and organisations who share the same goals about society.In the short term I am looking to set up a team of like-minded people who want to help me pull the cart:- people who master French, Dutch and English to a greater or lesser extent- citizens or organisations that are interested in real estate investments with more than just a financial return- companies or organisations active in construction or real estate, or providing services in relation to construction or building renovation- people who are concerned about the poor housing situation of many Brussels residents- people who want to do business in a cooperative manner.There are certainly a few of those around in the Brussels-Capital Region. Towards the end of 2011 a group of enthusiastic citizens set up DoucheFLUX (www.doucheflux.be) to help those living in precarious circumstances, whether they are homeless or living in poor housing, documented or otherwise, wherever they come from. 10 years later, DoucheFLUX provides essential services in its fully operational day centre, temporary accomodation for women and couples, and a wide range of activities which give self-confidence and dignity to homeless people. DoucheFLUX is also a… Show more Towards the end of 2011 a group of enthusiastic citizens set up DoucheFLUX (www.doucheflux.be) to help those living in precarious circumstances, whether they are homeless or living in poor housing, documented or otherwise, wherever they come from. 10 years later, DoucheFLUX provides essential services in its fully operational day centre, temporary accomodation for women and couples, and a wide range of activities which give self-confidence and dignity to homeless people. DoucheFLUX is also a team of staff members, volunteers and supporters with a shared belief that homelessness is not inevitable.In december 2013 I became a Full Right Member of the organisation, and I have been until the end of June 2022. My voluntary work has primarily focused on helping to raise public awareness and support from every layer of society. From september 2015 until may 2018 I was the organisation's fundraising consultant, setting up a fundraising structure that is used until today. Operating costs are covered through 3 revenue streams: affordable charges for the services provided (public showers, laundry, locker rental...), government subsidies, and receipts from fundraising campaigns and sponsorship agreements.
