Currently working on a number of research projects in collaboration with other researchers and organizations to improve the welfare of captive elephants and add to the knowledge we have of captive elephant care.

The Call to Conserve is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about and effecting change in captive wildlife welfare through collaborative projects with local communities prioritizing trust. Our vision is to bring local communities to the forefront of change in animal welfare to alter the way animal tourism operates.As president and founder of The Call to Conserve I spearhead fundraisers, manage donor relations, and oversee field projects conducted in Nepal.

I started at Boon Lott’s Elephant Sanctuary as an intern to aid in animal care and conservation. Following my internship I have continued to work for the sanctuary as an assistant to the sanctuary founder. I have aided in elephant vet care, foot care, website development, and administrative work.

Worked as a volunteer at the Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in the exotics and wildlife ward. Duties included: cleaning, preparing food, administering medications.

On my veterinary service trip I worked hands on with elephants at the Elephant Nature Park, assisted with surgeries at the Animal Rescue Kingdom, and worked with a marine conservation dive team in Koh Tao. At the Elephant Nature Park I did rounds with the elephant veterinarians to care for chronic injuries of rescued elephants, prepared food, aided in cleaning the park, and did a lot of hands on work with the elephants. During my time at the Animal Rescue Kingdom, I was able to do blood draws, place catheters, do full body examinations, as well as scrub in and assist the head veterinarians in surgeries. This facility houses cats and dogs which we were spaying and neutering. We also did lab work including: needle aspirations, skin scrapes, and blood work. With the marine conservation team, I was able to assist the dive team in conservation dives, aid in building artificial reefs, and do many ocean surveys.
