City Year is an education-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping students in school and on track to succeed. City Year partners with public schools to place a team of 8-12 AmeriCorps members in the school full-time for an entire year. AmeriCorps members provide interventions to students who are off-track in attendance, behavior, or course performance in math and/or English, with the goal of keeping students on track to graduate.As an Impact Manager at East High School, my primary responsibilities include:-Develop and manage the partnership between City Year, East High Schools, and the AmeriCorps members serving at East High School-Collaborate with City Year Staff, school faculty, school administration, and AmeriCorps members to ensure students receive maximum support in the classroom-Manage 5-9 AmeriCorps members actively serving in the classroom to make sure they are completing goals for attendance, academics and social emotional learning -Coach AmeriCorps members and giving performance feedback-Conduct data reviews with my team of AmeriCorps members to make data-informed decisions

As a City Year AmeriCorps member serving at Northeast High School, my primary responsibilities include: -Serve as a full-time tutor, mentor and role model to all students; 100% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. -Partner with a 9th grade Algebra I teacher to provide daily in-class support to 25 students, helping to redirect negative behavior and keep students on task academically -Deliver consistent one-on-one and small group math tutoring to ten 9th and 10th grade students who are below grade level in math-Serve as a City Year Resource Coordinator, bringing in in-kind donations for events at Northeast High School.-Participate in over 300 hours of service training and professional development throughout the course of the year, increasing interpersonal and community assessment skills.

- Organize practice plans to fit the needs to players- Lead practices and act as a mentor for players- Create personal and team goals for players to allow them to have some control over practice plans and personal play - Assess and monitor players' skills- Help players to build self-confidence while also motiving them to play hard- Deal with the wants and needs of players and parents- Handle different types of conflict in a productive and respectable manner

- Work with a prevention team to stop the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C- Act as a team member and play a role in keeping cohesiveness amongst team members- Educate different populations in regards to information over HIV and Hepatitis C- Handle and set up different tabling and outreach events- Work with high risk populations and give them materials needed to prevent the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C- General office work such as completing different types of paperwork and making sure the office is a clean and organized area to allow for optimal productivity - Flexible with time and always ready to lend a helping hand when needed
