Improving engineering education with evidenced-informed educational innovations in collaboration with e.g. learning developers, professors and students. Experimenting with emerging technologies and executing qualitative and quantitative research. Both technology push and pull strategies, facilitating internal innovation workshops and startup collaboration.

PortXL is the first international port accelerator programme focusing on technical startups. During the many events I focused on the visitor as well as the participants’ experience. I designed clear information provision with a professional visual appearance as well as a balanced programme. As an addition to the accelerator programme I supported the startups with their business modelling, product design and graphical translation of their technologies.

I worked on various design projects focused on education innovation at the 4TU.Centre for Engineering Education department of the TU Delft. The projects were evaluated via evidenced-based research to see the actual added value of the designs. The projects were co-created in interactive workshops with students and teachers and included many different design thinking techniques.

I was project leader of the TU Delft Research Exhibition at the Valorisation Centre of the TU Delft. The aim was to enhance the collaboration between scientists and external parties for a successful implementation in market and society. During the Research Exhibition I was responsible for presenting 80 scientific projects. Next to that I worked on several other innovation and impact projects focused on improving the strategy, branding and technology for students, scientists and start-ups to increase the success rate of innovations and research.

At the KNAW I was a project assistant at the IT department. I was providing administrative, support tasks for the head of the department and ensured a good communication between IT and the customers and end users. My tasks included process management efficiency analysis and customer research analysis.

Working within a reception environment providing this first contact with the clients by telephone, administration and reception service as well as organising the post, welcoming visitors and providing hospitality towards guests and clients.

At BabyBloom Healthcare I performed a qualitative user-product interaction research of a competing incubator and designed a new incubator technique. This new technique has been validated via user-tests, computational fluid dynamics simulations, and a prototype.

Eindhoven, Netherlands & Shanghai, China

Within a design team we executed cross-cultural research and usability research in the Netherlands and Shanghai for children with nearsightedness. This resulted in an interactive light design for healthier indoor spaces to reduce myopia. We built a prototype and instructions guide with the use of eye and body exercises. The design has been validated at several elementary schools in Shanghai.
