Currently volunteering at the United Nations Association, Toronto Region Branch (UNACTO), a division of the (UNA-Canada).The primary focus of UNACTO is to serve the community of Toronto using the values of the United Nations.•Writing proposals designed to create strategies and action plans used for long and short term goals aimed at how UNATCO can raise awareness in the public sphere regarding a variety of causes including; education, gender equality, homelessness, environmental causes and others. •Collaborating with team members through brain storming ideas to implement long term effective change by raising awareness and developing tactics and approaches that will garner ongoing community attention and support•Organizing networking events, information seminars and performances where professionals can build connections and be presented with important material in regards to significant causes effecting the various communities in Toronto and the GTA•Conducting research on different strategies UNACTO can utilize to elevate productivity, such as investigating events, job fairs, and functions that UNACTO can collaborate with to maximize efficiency •Building relationships with multiple corporations and businesses for partnership, sponsorship and donations intended for the various events and workshops that UNACTO holds•Promoting events for UNACTO by reaching out to members of the community through a variety of avenues such as handing out pamphlets, holding presentations, and reaching out to the community through various social media outlets

•Built highly positive and professional experience for customers and provided extensive information on new and existing products •Responsible for staff being adequately trained and efficient in providing information to customers regarding products and services•Organized seasonal and monthly promotions in the store and with external organizations •Responsible for the visual representation of the store by maintaining high standards of visual merchandise

•Provided intakes, assessments and counselling to the residents of the shelter and their children in an empathic manner to deliver a safe and hospitable experience •Handled crisis calls with distressed callers in a sensitive and non-judgemental manner and provided women with necessary resources and information •Supported the clients in finding suitable and affordable housing using external sources such as websites, and accompanied the women on apartment viewings•Assisted with the development life skills by facilitating/co-facilitating various empowerment groups for women; such as group meditations, resume and interview skills workshops and stress management groups •Provided referrals to appropriate agencies which were easily accessible to the clients according to the client’s unique circumstance including mental health services, legal aid, children’s aid services and others •Maintained daily confidential reports on client information and met with women to conduct one on one assessments to evaluate their progress and create long and short term goals to help them achieve and maintain independency upon discharge from the shelter •Collaborated with my co-workers daily on the development of different strategies to meet the needs of each individual client, and participated in monthly meetings to bring new programs and improve service delivery for the clients.
