I’m a Librarian who loves to learn. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on providing access to programs, services, and collections to adult patrons at public and special libraries. I’m motivated to help others solve problems and succeed in their pursuits, whether that’s scanning family photos in the Makerspace or engaging with issues impacting our local communities and broader world. My personal and professional experiences have taught me the following:I can design, deliver and evaluate adult programs.• I coordinate the Halton Hills Lecture Series, featuring in-person and virtual speakers• I lead Wines & Spines, an annual cocktail event for book lovers featuring the Dewey Divas• I collaborate with Cultural Services and community groups to offer 75+ events for Culture Days in Halton Hills• I launched a makerspace focused on media preservation and video editingI can help market library resources.• I write copy for program marketing on social media and in the e-blast• I revise press releases and speak to local media about adult programs• I create engaging displays that showcase adult collections• I coordinated a library-wide, quarterly print newsletter for 1.5 yearsI continue to learn and explore every day.• Diploma and continuing studies in Marketing – through McMaster CCE and University of Toronto SCS• Build a Meaningful Life & Career – 1 of 300 participants in the inaugural session offered to Western Alumni• Hyperlinked Library MOOC – 1 of 400 participants in an exclusive course offered by SJSU iSchool• Plus additional courses focused on business administration and instructional designI’m also a fan of reading non-fiction, listening to podcasts, and watching documentaries.
