I am a graduate student at Quinnipiac University in the occupational therapy program. I will be finishing my third and final Level II fieldwork placement this fall at Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill, NY, where I will be focusing on physical dysfunction. My last two placements were at a specialized school for Autism spectrum disorder and a role-emergent placement performing program development at the collegiate level. I plan to sit for the NBCOT exam in Winter 2016.I completed my Capstone project in Spring 2015, which focused on the impact of the aging process on older adult quality of life. Outcomes of this research project provided increased understanding of how older adults perceive their health, wellness, and participation in activity. This evidence strengthens the relationship between quality of life and chronic disease development. Philosophy of Practice: As an occupational therapy practitioner, collaboration with clients creates an opportunity to develop and expand the mind and body of both the practitioner and client.
