As a lawyer who has been practising for over 20 years, I am currently Montréal chair of our employment and labour law group, which includes over 40 professionals in this practice area including, among other things, occupational health and safety and immigration.I regularly advise employers in both the federal and Quebec jurisdictions on labour standards, the application and interpretation of collective agreements and human rights and freedoms.I have extensive experience in the areas of labour standards, restrictive covenants (non-compete and non-solicitation agreements), certification and the protection of personal information and in-depth knowledge of workplace harassment and discrimination issues.I have the privilege of representing the largest companies in Canada, small and medium-sized businesses, public and parapublic bodies and many professional orders before grievance and dispute arbitrators and all courts and administrative tribunals. A major part of my practice is devoted to collective bargaining negotiations.As I am always interested in sharing my knowledge, I am a frequent guest speaker on a range of topics related to employment and labour law, such as absenteeism management, disciplinary management, maintaining a non-unionized environment, employee performance, collective bargaining, time theft and workplace investigations.Finally, I taught employment and labour law and bargaining techniques at the Quebec Bar Admission Course for a number of years.
