Assistant Packaging Designer
Current• Outline and draft innovative concepts for packaging refreshes and new product launches • Design and create labels for multiple Fortune 100 clients, as well as the company's internal product line• Present custom prototypes to existing and prospective customers based on their solicited requests• Design complex ensemble packaging for licensed products and die lines• Develop advanced typography layouts for both new and refreshed campaigns in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop• Provide art for grocery and retail stores corrugated displays, such as CDUs and PDQs, in addition to floor displays• Review packaging to ensure proper legal lines, country of origin, languages, warning labels and UPC's are included to minimize potential risk• Oversee quality control of work produced by other designers to ensure accuracy and safety• Document requirements and requests, confirming that all specs of the final product match the client's submitted proof• Diligently communicate any necessary changes, such as sizing, to the customer to eliminate potential discrepancies • Track and monitor all existing items that require changes in addresses, warnings or any other sensitive information • Provide new prints as necessary for mockups for the Advertising, Marketing and Sales/Product Development departments• Coordinate the logistics of sending product art to the correct printers/factories • Collaborate with Purchasing, Advertising, QA and Sales/Product Development teams to verify all packaging is accurate and necessary sign-offs are received before releasing files• Give mock-up packaging direction for catalog photography• Interview, train and onboard new designers as needed
