Negotiated plea offers with defendants when appropriate. Represented the Tribe in criminal hearings such as probation revocations, bench and jury trials. Represented clients, all victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault in family law matters, civil restraining order hearings, small claims matters, and other matters allowed under the grant. Coded for expert credentials, use of testimony, and whether the testimony was admitted as expert testimony. If the testimony was excluded, noted whether it was excluded due to lack of expert qualification or lack of relevance.

Analyzed ordinances and litigation documents, focusing specifically on likely problems of interpretation and constitutional issues presented. Researched potential constitutional issues that may arise in challenges to smoke-free ordinances, such as whether an educational requirement within an ordinance renders it ambiguous or unconstitutionally vague. Drafted memos regarding proposed and disputed ordinances and how to avoid the use of problematic language and defend against challenges.
