As a product of the Atlanta Public School System, Danielle was able to see disparities in the public education system at an early age. In 2014, Danielle joined Teach for America and the KIPP Metro Atlanta Teachers Fellow Program to combat the disparities in the education system in her native Atlanta. During this time, she served as the Fifth Grade Science Teacher at KIPP South Fulton Academy. In 2016, Danielle was awarded the Georgia Governor’s Innovative Teaching for her innovative practices in her classroom, specifically flipping her 5th-grade science classroom to ensure her scholars were able to use class time to dive deeper into 5th-grade science standards. In 2017, Danielle relocated to the District of Columbia, where she served as 4th Grade Math Teacher and 4th Grade Level Lead. As Fourth Grade Level Lead, Danielle was able to impact the culture of the grade by developing relationships with scholars across the fourth grade, as well as the school. Danielle returned to her native, Atlanta. in the summer of 2019, where she currently serves as the 4th-grade math and science teacher at Westside Atlanta Charter.
