As a core member, I went through rigorous training process that educated me on the basics of the Chicago Public School system, as well as Americorps and City Year's role within that. I worked closely with peers between the ages of 18-24 to collaboratively plan and execute an effective program to keep high school students on track to graduate in the upcoming school year. We networked within the school's community in order to familiarize ourselves with businesses and potential donators to help our cause. We researched, obtained and implemented relevant data about both the community and the school to better serve its needs.
