As a Materials Laboratory Technician, my main duties include:• Carrying out material and component testing to support PD, design verification and vehicle launch;• Wear and abrasion testing, mechanical and climatic testing;• Sample preparation;• Use of Differential Scanning Calorimetry for analysis of polymers• Use of Instron tensile machinery• Executing development and sign-off testing for durability to test standards and methods;• Creating and writing test reports.

I worked as a technician for the Research, Development and Quality team as part of the Global Chocolate Team in their Cadbury site, Bournville on an initial three-month contract. The contract was then extended for a further nine months. Main Duties:• primarily in an assisting role for trials carried out in the pilot plant, operating equipment and preparing ingredients • project management and planning• data checking and recording • monitoring trial plans and producing product samples • trained and work to GMP standards daily, including HACCP • experience of using LIMS• opportunity to display leadership and confidence in working in a team or solo
