Functioned as sole front end developer on a team that was mostly back end developers, responsible for implementing new features and fixing bugs. I initiated defining and documenting standards, implementing snapshot tests, the creation of documentation (I am also responsible for roughly 90% of documentation on this repo to support developers as one of anywhere from 6-12 other developers working in the code base regularly). The documentation includes coding standards, how-to guides for various tasks people may want to achieve in the repo, testing how-to guides in a variety of testing scenarios, and tech health road maps.As our project grew to 4-5 teams, which similarly had only 1-2 front end developers, I initiated and managed a "guild" format to allow the front end developers across the project to come together, develop consistent code standards, plan feature architecture, manage massive merge requests and code freezes, and coordinate (at times conflicting) feature development. This included providing support when differing team initiatives had led to two entirely separate code versions within the repo, with different teams unintentionally adding features in different versions (making it impossible to offer all relevant features at the same time). Managers did not forsee this or make it a sprint priority to resolve this, so I proactively created tickets, roadmapped the code consolidation and clean up effort, and did the work to actually clean up the code (the merge that deleted the second "version" deleted tens of thousands of lines of codes and over a hundred files). The Middle East Studies Center (MESC) is a US Department of Education Undergraduate Title VI National Resource Center. The mission of the Center is to foster and generate knowledge of the Middle East, its past and current economic, social and political developments, and to promote teaching, learning, research and public awareness of the diverse array of Middle Eastern languages, cultures, and peoples. As an office intern, my job was to provide support for ongoing projects within. As a media consultant, I took footage from MESC-sponsored teaching workshops and created short instructional teaching videos. Intersectionality: New Approaches to Theorizing Difference was a 500-level course offered by the Department of Comparative Studies at The Ohio State University. The focus is on building an understanding of the interrelated nature of various axes of social classification as a useful rubric for theorizing difference. Topics of the course included Critical Race Theory, Sovereignty Studies, Whiteness Studies, Critical Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Disability Studies.These topics were deep, interdisciplinary, and complex. This course required students to explore paradigms that were at best unfamiliar, and at worst hostile to their own personal paradigms coming in. It was, predictably, very challenging material.As a teaching intern, I worked with the course professor, Maurice Stevens, to develop curriculum and consider the most productive and accessible ways to present the material to students. Additionally, I functioned as a second source of support in the classroom - someone who could provide non-judging attention, encouragement, and answers while the professor was helping others.

A student interested in Iraqi elections can read coverage from the US, France, Iran, Japan, etc.More than just translating, I also researched leading news outlets in Germany, selected the most robust articles, and translated them into English to be published online.-I researched and presented on the most influential news sources within Germany.-I evaluated and selected compelling editorials on stories of international interest.-I translated selected editorials from German into English, which were then published online at Mondokio International News.-Translated over twenty published articles in two month period.

From September 2007-July 2008, I and 49 other students selected for the prestigious Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholarship studied abroad in Germany. Poor coordination in the responsible organization often left students confused and unprepared. As a result, I began proactively gathering information from the organizations we were involved with, organizing student communications, and otherwise making sure we had the information we needed. By the end of the year, organization officials were calling me directly over working with other members of their organization to get resources to students in the program. -I organized a social media group before the program began to provide connections and resources among students-I gathered and distributed information to students, researched and answered student questions, on topics including required seminar locations and dates, how to acquire and get reimbursed for travel to and from seminars, as well as return travel to the United States-I distributed photos and essential communications from national organization to students in our program-I was the point-person between national organizations and students in program-I created and still maintain database of alumni contacts
