Hello! My name is Danielle Seitz, and I am currently a junior studying Fashion and Textile Design at UW Madison. I have been captivated by clothing as an art form for as long as I can remember. Self-expression through personal style is something I lead my life with, and has shaped many of my experiences thus far. My fascination with fashion goes beyond just following trends; I'm drawn to the intricate details, the interplay of textures, and how that translates to creating garments. Whether experimenting with fabrics, sketching out design concepts, or bringing my ideas to life through sewing and construction, I always express myself through fashion. As a student, I'm dedicated to honing my skills and expanding my knowledge in all aspects of fashion and textile design. I eagerly immerse myself in coursework that covers everything from patternmaking and draping to textile science and sustainable design practices. Through my studies in fashion, my creativity has been able to skyrocket, constantly creating something new. The creative process is something I am very passionate about, and I am a strong believer in it. Taking part in a creative space such as the School of Human Ecology at UW Madison, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with other creatives daily and to work with experienced professors. Having the opportunity to create in such an encouraging space has allowed me to discover myself as an artist and a designer, and I am a better one because of it. I am excited to take part in the UW Madison FIT program my senior year and soak up all that the Fashion Institute of Technology has to offer with my current peers.Ultimately, my goal is to carve out a meaningful career in the fashion industry where I can continue to express my creativity, contribute to positive change, and inspire others through my designs. I'm excited to see where this journey takes me and to connect with fellow enthusiasts who share my love for all things fashion and textiles.
