Streamlined the data collection, review, and consolidation process by proposing and collaborating on a new process utilized by all core build analysts. This resulted in increased efficiency, consistency, and transparency, allowing for better project management.Clinical Content Validation (CCV): Proactively secured timely Epic support and clear timelines for the CCV process. This ensured efficient end-user and analyst identification, training, and resource allocation. As a result, our team was well-prepared to initiate the process on schedule and meet all deadlines.Workflow Definition: Spearheaded lab workflow review by developing a standardized process for the analyst team to define and document workflows and facilitating communication with informatics and labs to obtain feedback and secure acceptance from all stakeholders for each workflow.Build: Championed the establishment of consistent build standards for lab orders (EAP), tests (OVT), and components (LRR). Recognizing the potential for inconsistency within a large team with varying analyst experience, I proactively developed a process for making key integrated build decisions. Through regular team meetings, I facilitated open discussions on decision points and their potential consequences, ensuring everyone understood the impact of each choice. This collaborative approach led to a strong team consensus on the build standards, which was documented for ongoing reference. UF Shands UF Shands was an Epic roll-out to three newly acquired hospitals and their associated laboratories. Ownership areas included Chemistry build and testing, Microbiology mentorship and build, and POCT build with RALS. Introduced team to Epic’s Clinical Content Validation (CCV) process in Hyperspace. Implemented CCV (utility, RW reports, and build request workqueue) and Beaker Scenario testing workflows. Trained analysts on process and co-ran SME CCV kick-off meeting.Partnered with and mentored FTE microbiology analyst on complex micro build. Designed and built all Microbiology Decision Trees based off of legacy workflow exports. Designed and outlined build plan for Preference and Cascading Rules with specific Epic record IDs for efficient review and build. Updated Point of Care build. Split RapidPoint blood gas testing into source-specific OVTs to allow for improved result checking functionality. Worked with RALS to update all EAP and LRR interface mappings. Built result checking on all POC testing.

Ascension - Wisconsin Ascension Wisconsin was a concurrent Beaker add-on and Epic roll-out to the health care system’s second region. In addition to the ownership areas and build discussed below, Danielle mentored analysts and advised the team on various system design and build needs.Audited existing Order Transmittal rules with Orders, Clin Doc, and ASAP owners. Designed and led consolidation efforts as well as integration of Beaker OTX needs. Mentored Beaker FTE owner for long-term maintenance.Created and maintained team documents for build standards, continuity, and Go Live success, such as EAP update procedures, a maintenance plan for types and sources, and tracking documents for topics and workflows requiring additional clinical Go Live readiness activities or end-user training.Owned, designed, documented, and built pre-analytic workflows including, but not limited to, the following. Worked very closely with clinical leadership to identify needs and implement successful solutions.Audited specimen type and source category lists. Consolidated current lists with the five other specimen type/source/site lists used in the different legacy systems. Designed, organized, and ran a clinical review process. Identified and completed all required integrated updates, including EAPs, OTX, OVMs, LLOs, and lab CERs. Implemented a change control process once the master review and build was complete. Advised and assisted the OpTime team in the design and build of the Specimen Navigator.

Northwestern MedicineBeaker Add-on ImplementationOwnership areas include hematology (including WAM), coagulation, blood gasses, point of care testing (including RALS interface), quality control, and temporarily chemistry.At Northwestern I specialized in hematology and coagulation. Efforts were focused on consolidating, designing, and building all hematology and coagulation workflows for 16 laboratories, ranging the full spectrum from specialized cancer center labs to large laboratories processing high volumes of specimens. Responsibilities also included implementing the appropriate Beaker build to integrate with Sysmex WAM and Cellavision at applicable hospitals.

Trinity HealthMy main role at Trinity Health was to implement an effective and efficient Mapped Record Testing (MRT) process, and later charge testing process, for the organization's many interfaced laboratory systems. I reviewed and recorded the MRT documentation process to identify gaps in analysis and testing, owned all status reporting and project tracking for the MRT team, and mentored analysts on troubleshooting techniques for identifying and correcting issues with failed testing. In addition to these MRT focused responsibilities, I advised the lab team on type and source workflows, as well as LQL build on interfaced orders, and assisted in identifying appropriate build to accommodate current LIS system’s integration to Epic.

Mount Auburn Hospital At Mount Auburn, I participated in two upgrades utilizing Nova, a double upgrade in the fall of 2018 and an upgrade in May 2019. At the same time, I also maintained current build through addressing ticket queues in Service Now and participated in integrated efforts to improve workflows. As the microbiology build specialist, I implemented new scan susceptibility panels, completing mapping and testing, re-built the organism structure, and designed and built complex and specialty testing workflows. In the realm of sendout testing, I investigated and troubleshoot reference lab interfaces (Interface Parameters, IIT, LLB, Lab Facility Structure) and worked the Quest and Department of Public Health error queues. To help manage charge build, I implemented a tracker and process to address all charge build requests. I also identified and corrected issues that were resulting in a loss of revenue. With shifting staffing, I entered a period where I stepped into a project management role for the Beaker team. I lead all Beaker and clinical meetings, identified, organized, and prioritized all known Beaker projects and responsibilities, and completed build audits to identify root causes of reoccurring issues. Integrated efforts included developing and leading a clinical workgroup in the clean-up of integrated Type and Source build in Epic, completing a build audit and implementing a change control process for preference lists allowing a backlog of associated issues to be resolved effectively and efficiently, participating in the sepsis workgroup to design and build the integrated sepsis workflow, and implementing the Beaker build for the ambulatory preference list workflow.
