I moved to San Francisco from Hawaii in 2017 to pursue an education in Animation. However life redirected me into another direction, thus leading me to obtain a Bachelors in Business Administration instead. After graduating in the summer of 2021, I stumbled upon Climb Hire and was one of the hand selected climbers picked out of thousands to embark on this opportunity to become a Certified Salesforce Administrator. Although my passion still lies with the Arts, I am interested in the rapidly growing tech world and the many opportunities it has to offer. I plan to use all my acquired skills to bring awareness to social injustice and climate crises around the world.My connection to the arts began when I was a child watching animated masterpieces by Disney and Studio Ghibli, such as Tarzan, Atlantis, Treasure Island, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle. The way the films would touch my heart and cause me to have an emotional reaction to the film is the same feeling I wish to give my viewers. I am very particular in the films and stories I get into because I don't want to be able to predict how the story will end. Once I start being able to make predictions and seeing them come true as the storyline goes on, I lose interest and stop where I left off because I already know what's going to happen. I realize the importance of representation in story telling because there are millions of unheard voices around the world that feel unseen and unheard. This is why art is so impactful. I want to be able to relate to my audience and give them a sense of comfort in that they are not alone in their personal journeys in life.I'd also like to use my art to bring awareness to global issues such as the rising climate crisis and social issues. I've had a turning point in my life in the summer of 2020 where I can't just turn away from the social injustice that happens around the world because ignoring the issue makes me part of the problem. I may not have the same impact a major corporation may have on these issues but at least I can do my part and try to spread awareness and lessen my carbon footprint the best that I can. My hopes are that I am able to inspire my audience to do the same.
