Deploying a lean product development method, a launching customer, support of the NSO and ESA, and many iteration later, the product is operational. As product developer Daniel supports the development process, interacts with the customers and technical teams. Also Daniel is the financial responsible for the development trajectory.

That is the dream SmartfarminTech is working on. Coffee, Potatoes and Organic Cotton has been included in the apps available in the play store. Technologies applied are blended App, Web and SMS. In the Magdalena region in Colombia, water resources management is complicated, and as water availabilty is irregular, dry spells and floodings are getting more severe. Affacting the agricultural production and wetlands ecosystems. Our consortium of Resilience BV and Acacia Water will develop a desicion support system for the integrated water allocation in the region. Our approach will focus on the agricultural users, producing mainly oil palm, banana and coffee, and the ecosystem use of water. In the role of team lead, I will coordinate the work and liaise with the client, Partners 4 Water and RVO, as well as the consortium contract agreements.

APSAN Vale is an agricultural extension project aiming to improve livelihoods of small scale farming communities, enable agricultural economies to grow and adding resilience to the agricultural system. Four different expertise are brought together in this multiyear project being: Water management, Agronomy, market insights and nutrition. Together with the Dutch "Future Water" and the Mozambican "HUB", we operate the project in three districts, Nhamatanda, Catandica and Tete in the Centre of Mozambique, the Vale do Zambese. Our Client, the Agênçia do Vale do Zambeze, is financed by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mozambique. In my role as project manager it is my task to coordinate between the equal partners and communicate with our client on progress, impact, planning and contracting matters.

In order to improve the value chain of corn in Mozambique, we are experimenting with satellite data, to forecast growing locations and estimate volumes of smallholder corn. Such information can be used to support aggregators in to provide contracts early in de season, improving reliability, and stability of the market and outlook of small scale producers.Our product is called SmartGrain

As part of a two Year program ECODRR, implemented by the Mozambican Red Cross (CVM), and supported by the French red Cross (FRC), our consortium Resilience BV and HKV - lijn in water, will carry out a hydrological study to the flooding an dry spells affecting the delta of the Zambese river in Mozambique. De role of Team manager is coordination of the work and contractual liaison with the client and her stakeholders.

The NUFFIC funded OKP TMT+ training in Mozambique is called Regional Water planning opportunities and innovations to increase water availability and promote climate resilience for irrigated agriculture in the Beira Agricultural growth corridor.In Mozambique, development organizations (in which lower government offices also play a role) and ARA-Centro can potentially complement each other. This realization is central to the Theory of Change of this training. It is based on the recognition that (1) there is an urgent need to include farmer-led irrigation development in regional water planning, making irrigated agriculture and agricultural production (more) sustainable; and (2) there is an urgent need to ‘harvest’ available information on water availability and actual uses, and develop a working method (with stakeholders) to assist ARA-Centro in obtaining (and enlarging) a more realistic water budget for its river basins. This multi-stakeholder training combines the strengths of the Dutch Water Authorities, University of Utrecht, University of Wageningen and Resilience BV. A training is provided to ARA Centro and Several NGOs including OCODEMA, Kabutsirana and ADPP. As proposal manager, and project director, Daniel is supporting the implementation of the project, and managing the contracts.

For a french client of Stichting Wateropleidingen,we translated the dutch operational course for drinking water profesionals, "hygienisch werken in het drinkwaternet" (eng) working hygienically in the drinking water network, from Dutch into French. the courseware including powerpoints were translated and the course to french water professionals was facilitated as technical content experts and french speaker.

Safisana, a company operating and building Bio-digesters aimes to extend its operation in Africa. A team of Resilience experts studied the biomass input availability and the compost potential for a new site in Easter Africa. Daniel has been the final responsible of the project from the Resilience side.

As part of the Bachelor International Land and Water Management, students are challenged to come up with an integral solution including a technical viable set of land and water related measures. As Chief Technical Advisor my role is to support these students in the preparation of these plans.

For a private sector Dutch client we performed a market scan in order to find suitable partners willing to co-develop a smart sensor for the drinking water sector. Through a network approach, starting with key informants, a wide range of companies was assessed. A multi-criteria analyses resulted in the selection of three companies that expressed genuine interest in becoming this searched for development partner.

To enable small scale farmers to make optimal use of the to be constructed Lower Kuja Irrigation Scheme, in Migori County, we are building the bussiness case for optimal production. Teaming up with Joep van den Broek (Resilience) and Joshua Oyieko (Panafcon).We are launched into this project by Lake View Fisheries, who is looking for ways to reduce Fish Feed costs as well as trying to lift the countries economy. SNV is financing this feasibility and caring for logistics and quality support.

Drinking water distribution systems leak. Leakage is a problem when water supply to domiciles is halted, when the outflowing water damages nearby infrastructure and when contamination enters the distribution system through the breaches. Water utilities strive at Leakage reduction at an economical level. Together with Dutch drinking water utilities Leakage alarm and finding algorithms are developed and implemented throughout the Netherlands. These algorithms are modules of the Aquasuite operational software. I have the pleasure to develop this project, take care of the roadmap, define the user experience features and work closely together with the water utilities and the technical development teams.

Graag vervul ik de rol van creator en coördinator om in nauwe samenwerking met (eind)gebruikers, tot nieuwe innovatieve technologische en IT oplossingen te komen en zo het maximale uit (drink)watersystemen te halen.Als expert ligt mijn kennis op het gebied van hydraulica, GIS, Non Revenu Water, informatieanalyse en assetmanagement. Als coordinator werk ik graag aan uitdagingen die innovatieve ideeën in teamverband vertalen naar praktische oplossingen met toegevoegde waarde. Ik pleit ervoor dat betrokken stakeholders gecommiteerd zijn aan de oplossingen; een essentieel aspect om innovaties geaccepteerd te krijgen. 6 Innovaties per jaar is mijn target. Innovatie is mijn drijfveer, “Doe het nu” is mijn motto.

I am working on The Human Sensor. The Human Sensor brings social media and customer care data and operational setpoints of drinking water production and distribution systems together. Challenging and very nice project.

Samen met drinkwaterbedrijf PWN en social media bedrijf Public Sonar, hebben we de afgelopen jaren vorm gegeven aan the human sensor. Wat begon als een "wat zou het toch mooi zijn als ..." is nu een 24/7 applicatie geworden met 120 gebruikers. Dat het concept goed is blijkt, elk waterleidingbedrijf in Nederland een soortgelijke applicatie heeft ingericht. We zijn er trots op dat we nu service provider zijn van The Human Sensor voor PWN.

Creating new services, shaping products and co-creating usefull solutions for and with clients is the goal. Doing this while using the potential of my great fellow workers, friends and competitors is my way of doing it. Also this year we want to bring 3 innovations to the market. Currently underway, The Human Sensor - Hydraulic module, Risk Based Inspection App for civil and electrical inspections, LIVA - RFID chips on burried pipe material, and APRC - Advanced Pellet Reactor Control.

Identification and setup of prioritised NRW reduction program, define the GIS based asset management system for Kaski, the drinking water utility in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, and setup a leak detection program.

Based on the NEN2767 we developed a methodology to rank maintenance status of drinking water production plants. This scoring is carried out by multidisciplinary teams, in a short period of time. This methodology has been ranking over 100 drinking water installations in the netherlands. At the moment we are launching a tablet app, that will improve the speed of these quickscans even more. However, the current challenge we have taken up is to provide a model / methodology or system that shows actual maintenance status of all installations of a drinking water company.

I've been working on the use and the application of GIS systems and hydraulic models to empower drinkingwater professionals to optimise their workflow. Knowledge and Information management are the foundation of these programs; strong risk analysis and improved asset management are the benefits when well applied.

With a team of 15 experts from three continents we are looking at the best way to supply drinking water to 500000 people living in Parakou in 2025, yes great project!

Based on a field tested approach that amplifies smallholder farmers irrigation experience from field level to large scale, a consortium of WUR, ETC, KIT, Resilience, Umhlaba and Royal HaskoningDHV prepared the winning proposal for a 5000ha rice irrigation implementation project. The PROIRRI-rice project was awarded in 2014 and is currently under implementation. It has been great to combine university analyses with ingineering experiences. Great work.

Searching information can be a hassle, finding it is that challenge. In this assignment Brabant Water asked me to carry out a feasibility study to define the best solution on the market that fits the Brabant Water situation; and enables the operator to speed up his information finding quest.
