Retired as of November 2021, I want to do something either for fun or to help other people and make this world a better place. Societal issues of special concern to me now include housing insecurity; food insecurity; mass incarceration; felony criminal sentencing reform and community justice; the growing influence of hate groups; systemic racial oppression; and antisemitism.I have spent the major part of my career in the property / casualty industry as a data analyst, financial analyst or credit analyst. Prior to that, I worked in an electric utility company and then with a maker of aircraft engines as an engineer. Between careers, I earned an MBA degree and a certificate in client/server programming and web development.I spent 5 years in an Information Systems group in a technical role involved with ETL projects (Extract, Transform and Load), using tools like Informatica PowerCenter to move and process data between databases. My financial experience included planning and budgeting, as well as commercial credit analysis, where I have now spent more than half my career. Some of my strengths are: learning and applying new skills to take on new roles (e.g., Hyperion Pillar for budgeting, Informatica PowerCenter, SQL coding, credit analysis); being dependable and reliable; and working collaboratively to solve business problems.Specialties: Corporate financial statement analysis; ETL (Informatica PowerCenter, DB2 UDB, SQL Server, SQL coding); financial analysis, including planning, budgeting and variance analysis (Hyperion Pillar, Essbase)
Listed skills include Financial Analysis, Db2, Sql Server, Sql, and 11 others.
