Director of the Recreation Therapy at Bethany Riverside-a Gundersen Health System Affiliate.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Understanding and maintaining knowledge of all current State and Federal regulations• Holding the Recreation Therapy department accountable for maintaining compliance with all State and Federal regulations• Ensuring compliance with all required assessments and documentation• Overseeing all aspects of the volunteer program including recruitment and retention• Independent decision making regarding the Recreation Therapy department including scheduling, budgeting, event planning, and program planning• Responsible handling and spending of all donation money• Supervision of full-time and part-time Recreation Therapy staff• Daily clerical work including receipting in petty cash expenses and Resident outing expense logs• Collaborating with the executive team and participating in interdepartmental committees• Assisting with organizing facility wide quality improvement/quality assurance programs, including the Bethany Lutheran Homes Servant Leadership Team• Supervising UW-La Crosse Therapeutic Recreation interns• Ensuring the Recreation Therapy department provides quality, meaningful and therapeutic programming for all of the Residents of Bethany Riverside• Building and maintaining meaningful relationships with families and visitors• Upholding the Recreation Therapy department to the Bethany Lutheran Homes Mission Statement and Core Values I find the greatest fulfillment and job satisfaction in planning and organizing events or new initiatives. I enjoy the planning process and seeing an event successfully come together in the end. I am very detail oriented and able to think ahead to ensure optimum results. I love connecting with new people and establishing meaningful and powerful relationships.

I provide meaningful recreational programs as a means of therapy for Residents who are either in transition back to the community, or are transitioning to Bethany Riverside long term. I plan and organize many special events, as well as community outings to enrich the lives of the Residents.

I have been bartending part-time at Dublin Square Irish Pub since it opened in April of 2011. I love the environment and the opportunity to meet and talk with different people. I love the customer service interactions and providing someone with an enjoyable dining experience. Dublin Square is an authentic Irish pub and eatery located in downtown La Crosse, WI. Our beautiful city is well known for its exciting nightlife and Dublin Square is in the heart of the downtown district. Great food, live music, outside dining, and several large screen TV's is what you can expect when you stop in and visit. We're all a wee bit Irish at Dublin Square!
