I have previously worked at Marshalls at Greece Ridge Mall as a cashier before going to college. While I was there I learned many things about customer service and what it can really mean. I worked with many different people while cashing them out at the store. Multiple times I was complimented by the customer for putting in the extra time to fold the clothes before putting them in the bag, doing my best to pack the bag strategically for their convenience so it may not have been to heavy for them, or being able to hold a conversation of small talk with them while I was still doing the work to cash them out. I also had seen people shop lift many times, but still had to keep my composure and smile for the next customer. It was also a constantly moving position where if there was no line at the front of the store I would be sent out on the floor to go pick items up, help customers, organize the shelfs, keep everything presentable, or to go work in the back room unboxing shipments of clothes we had received that needed to be processed and put out on the floor for the customers. While it was a fast paced always moving position it did teach me a lot about always helping other people in the best way possible.While being at college I previously attended Penn State Harrissburg for a year before transferring to St. John Fisher University I had played club hockey while also orginally studying to be a civil engineer. While that did change after a semester it was a good experience and taught me more about working with different softwares on a computer. I had switched my major to business more specifically accounting after that first semester, then I had decided I wanted to be closer to home and around my family which is why I decided on Fisher. Since being at Fisher I have continued to play club hockey, but also join some clubs the accounting club and SGA (Students Government Association) after my professor had mentioned there was an opening and encouraged me to apply. I now hold the position of Director of Marketing and Communication, while doing this I have learned so much about time management between hockey, classes, and meetings, while maintaining a 3.66 GPA last semester. I have learned how to problem solve different things, look at things through multiple perspectives, how to work more with teams, and how to problem solve different things that come my way.
