Here, I was initially recruited into a director position when the company was starting to grow. I advanced to the VP position delivering strategic leadership to drive business growth and operational efficiency. Additionally, I steered creating and establishing of a biomedical service department, building it from the ground up. I was initially hired as a Re-Use and Patient Care Technician (PCT). Quickly I was tasked to start working on medical equipment, training other PCTs on dialysis delivery and water treatment systems, and gaining multiple promotions that led me to nine (9) states. Responsibilities for overseeing Technical Operations for Outpatient, Acute, and Home Therapy Dialysis.- Devised and developed Home Therapy and Acute processes enabling organic growth rates significantly exceeding industry goals and standards; growth for 2011 and 1st quarter of 2012 were the highest in all of FMC-NA.- Applied fiscal, business, and operations management acumen to effectively monitor financial information and P&L for each facility to ensure supply cost inventory, machine repair, water treatment systems, and other budgets were kept within goals and defined metrics. - Ensured Technical/Clinical policies and procedures aligned with CMS, AAMI, ANSI, KDOQI, and OSHA guidelines ensuring the best patient outcomes, and top CMS/JACHO audit scores. In addition, I help develop & implement an annual water treatment training program with return demonstration for recertification. - Played a vital role within the FMCNA National Disaster Response Team, working with FEMA (ICS) Incident Command System (NIMS) National Incident Management System, including Disaster Mitigation, Emergency Support Functions, and direct experience responding to multiple national disasters over ten years. - Notably in Texas during Hurricane Ike and in Missouri as a First Responder during the Joplin Tornado. Clinical Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician (CHT) Providing chronic hemodialysis therapy: recommended a dialysis plan for ultrafiltration, initiated dialysis via catheter accesses, cannulated AV fistula and grafts, with various size needles from 21g to 14g.- Observed all safety measures, continuously monitored patient vital signs of critically ill patients with varying degrees of co-morbidities, and administer fluid therapy or other appropriate treatments as directed by the MD, documented adverse events and any pertinent changes in patient care that were needed appropriately, and professionally. - Record in the chairside EMR and report to RN all patient observations: vital signs and all other parameters of ESRD patients, obtain blood samples and culture specimens, transport patients using Hoyer lifts, and other safe patient transfer techniques as needed.- My daily goal was to ensure safe and effective dialysis treatments while maintaining happy and healthy patients.
