I look at the XVA pricing implications for derivative transactions in Lloyds Banking Group. My current focus is on the capital (KVA) and collateral (MVA) elements of optimising the balance sheet, whilst gaining exposure to CVA and FVA trading. Alongside pricing, the team build and maintain many of our own spreadsheets, allowing me to utilise and improve my knowledge in SQL and VBA.

Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets - Capital, Collateral & Optimisation team. This was a new team set up within a new bank (LBCM). I was responsible for the front office daily collateral management, ensuring collateral was optimally sourced/pledged via the repo and money markets. I was tasked to ascertain the feasibility of a project presented to me by P&G, investigating the impact of slurry crystallisation in detergent powder product quality. This involved thorough research; outlining a risk assessment; modelling the reaction behaviour under ideal conditions; and determining and executing an experimental procedure, which was adapted as I encountered various obstacles. Researching a topic that's never been attempted leaves no obvious starting point, meaning I had to locate journals and reports that had similar experimental methodologies and apply relevant principles to my investigation. Organising the restaurant required knowledge of everything happening on the floor, in the kitchen and in the bar. Ensuring the kitchen and servers could cope whilst maintaining customer satisfaction improved my ability to multi task and make quick decisions.Managing the VIP room improved my personable skills as I learnt to converse with a wide variety of businessmen and women.
