- Led/executed a project to upgrade Schoolzilla’s Airflow stack which allowed the company to switch to more cost-effective AWS managed services; greatly simplified/enhanced the performance of 100’s of customer data pipelines and made the overall data pipeline much more resilient/fault tolerant. - Simplified and optimized several “homegrown” data tools and web-services by incorporating them into Schoolzilla’s Airflow/ETL codebase, saving the company thousands of dollars in redundant infrastructure.- Used data/database optimization experience to diagnose and develop optimization strategies for storage/CPU/memory issues that were plaguing Schoolzilla’s Data Warehouse servers: e.g., one memory optimization resulted in a 99.9 % memory reduction and allowed the company to scale down one of its Data Warehouse servers.- Automated/created an Airflow error alerting system that compiles all customer workflow error information into a single Jira ticket for easy troubleshooting/diagnosis, which has already saved 100’s of hours of support/triage work (previously, all error information had to be gathered manually by the support teams).- Developed and led a project to seamlessly switch Schoolzilla’s customer SFTP site (an EC2 instance) to a managed AWS service called AWS Transfer; used Terraform (infrastructure as code) to automatically create the new SFTP service and provision the necessary AWS services/artifacts. This project has greatly reduced security vulnerabilities and the cost/time of manually maintaining an SFTP server.

- Act as scrum-master and project manager for Data Services, which includes leading weekly scrum/team meetings, managing sprints/code repositories, and ensuring the Data Services team stays on top of incoming data integration, engineering, and analytic tasks/projects. - Lead and mentor the Data Services team and company in database optimization, ETL/data integration, data science, data visualization, and analytics efforts. - Serve as a database knowledge and optimization resource for the Data Services team: dynamic query construction, table partitioning, vacuum/analyze, explain statements, and indexing. - Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and support vital company data integrations using a variety of technologies including PostgreSQL, Python, REST/SOAP API's, Pentaho PDI, Docker, and Salesforce (SOQL, REST). Accomplishments:- Transitioned the Data Services team to an "agile" workflow for continuous integration/development/deployment, i.e. standardized the usage of feature branches, pull-requests, and the deployment of builds/branches to Data Services’ various code repositories.- Developed a Data Reporting Service API that combines complex and dynamic database functions (PostgreSQL) with a Python Flask API to serve real-time, and previously unavailable, data to front-end analytic and reporting applications. - Researched and developed a REST data API to deliver insurance quote requests to Motus applications after a previous insurance provider went out of business, saving Motus hundreds of hours of contractor development time. - Successfully developed and executed a data science/predictive project that modeled New Business Opportunity data (from Salesforce) to predict the probability of an opportunity being won (.811 AUC score, i.e. accuracy measure of final model).
