About Daniel Mcnelis
I come from an academic background in molecular biology and genetics, and I'm working to become a full-time web developer. I'm a creative problem solver, a team-player, and a self-starter.I have experience creating and managing my own web application, FormatLibrary.com, that is used by ~20k users per month to research the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game and its history. I built the site with an Nx/Express/React/PostgreSQL tech stack, and I host it on AWS using EC2, CloudFront, and S3. It's also closely integrated with a Discord application I built called RetroBot that is used by dozens of Discord communities to host tournaments and ladders. The data collected from the bot about tournaments, players, decks, etc. populates FormatLibrary.com automatically, constantly generating new content and driving user engagement.
