I am a passionate, skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer working in the marine and offshore industries. My areas of expertise include designing, developing and analysing mechanical systems, structures and pressure vessels using the latest engineering software including finite element analysis (ANSYS), 3D parametric modelling (Autodesk Inventor) and pressure vessel design (Finglow).I received a Bachelor of Engineering (hons) in Mechanical Engineering in 2005 from University of Glasgow. I joined Whittaker Engineering (Stonehaven) Limited as a Graduate Engineer in 2006. I was promoted to the position of Mechanical Engineer in 2010 and promptly promoted to Engineering Team Leader in 2014.My role at Whittaker Engineering is to contribute the technical expertise required to develop fit-for-purpose designs and perform complex analysis to provide our clients with robust, efficient and economic solutions. In addition, as Engineering Team Leader I am responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department and mentoring graduate engineers. As well as being experienced in mechanical and structural engineering solutions and management, I am also competent in project management having managed the day-to-day activities of several large projects. I am also a trained ISO 9001 internal QA auditor and I have developed and implemented several departmental quality procedures that aid the production of technical documents and robust design control. I played a pivotal role in the company attaining and maintaining several accreditations including: pressure vessel design and repair to ASME U, U2 and National Board R stamps; Pressure Equipment Directive Modules H and H1; Quality Systems Management to ISO 9001 and Environmental Management to ISO 14001.In 2019 I achieved the status of Chartered Engineer and member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
