Drafting of estate planning documents including: wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, estate plan flow charts and memorandums. Finally, assist in the implementation of a client's estate plan, including, deed transfers, beneficiary designations, transfer of insurance policies, tracking and preparation of Crummey withdrawal notices and drafting gift tax returns. The position also includes communicating with various legal professionals, government agencies, consultants and clients daily; utilizing the full suite of Microsoft Office tools, including, but not limited to, Outlook, FileSite/WorkSite, legal project management systems, ContactEase, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as various online resources for research; and overseeing the quality control of template documents, assignments and the execution of prepared documents.
Assistant Clerk
Primary responsibilities include, managing inflow and completion of Decedent Estates, Change of Name applications, Guardianships of the Intellectually Disabled, and Commitment proceedings as well as overseeing accounts receivables for the Court, scanning and preserving documents and implementing efficient filing and destruction procedures for sensitive Probate documents.

Hired to scan, sort and ultimately destroy a three year backlog of files by using a laser-fiche scanning system. Concurrently tasked with maintaining the recently closed files by scanning and categorizing the files until their ultimate destruction or preservation. Created and maintain a shared Outlook calendar used by the Clerks and Judge to schedule court and personal events. Developed a filing system that is computer based and time efficient so for the first time the Court is meeting or exceeding the statute requirements set by the Probate Court Administrator and the State of Connecticut Legislature.
