Lazerpro was initially started as a video production company. It was launched as one of the first all digital non-linear production companies in the United States. We leveraged the advances in computer technology to provide video production and editing services that were 100% digital. Lazerpro was able to provide hollywood quality at a fraction of the price. Our initial business verticals were both event and wedding video as well as corporate training videos and local television commercials. The business grew quickly from Dan as a single employee to a staff of 2 production people in addition to Dan. Lazerpro moved into CD-ROM production and then into Web development in 1994 as it was a natural fit to the businesses already being served by the company. At this point the company grew rapidly to a staff of 15. Web development quickly became the top business unit for the company. Central Pennsylvania's leading Disc Jockey and Entertainment company. Started in 1987 while I was a student at Penn State and primarily serves the Penn State community and State College area. Our DJ's have provided entertainment at many events including many bars/nightclubs, weddings and private parties.While running, managing and growing the DJ company I wrote a 150 page training manual that we used to teach new DJs the trade craft and provide standardizations across the company. The company still uses to this day (with some enhancements and modernization provided by Alex Nepa - the current General Manager)Our company has continued to serve many local bars and nightclubs in the State College / Penn State market. We have continually provided a high level of entertainment to Player's / Indigo Nightlcub since 1992.Many of the DJ's who have trained at Local Motion DJ's have gone on to long and fruitful careers as successful national and international DJs.After starting, running and owning the business for 28 years. Custom programming and consulting. Built specialty system for clients that would ingest realtime Satellite data feed for distribution to television graphics system. Eliminated the need for long expensive phone calls to download large graphic files.

One of the first dial up BBS systems. Running initially on a TRS-80 Model I and later moved to a Model III. I wrote all of the code for the BBS including the host adaptor allowing the serial port to control the system and on computer software. Which included online forums, email messaging, file downloads, chat and even e-commerce to allow people to by computer parts. This was before AOL or Compuserve. Initially running on a Hayes 300 baud modem and then on a super fast for its day Prometheus (Hayes compatible) modem at a blazing fast 1200 baud.

While still in High School, I worked with customers to identify hardware and software solutions. Built custom databases and multi-user hardware and software environments. Also during this time period I custom coded and built from scratch an electronic Bulletin Board System (known as a BBS). Users would dial in to my system where they could download files, send emails and chat. I built an eCommerce component where users could purchase computers and computer parts from Steven's Computer Center. The BBS was called The Wedge and ran from 1982 through 1986 and at its peak had over 1,000 users per day dialing in to the system. That was 30 years ago and would be equivalent to a website with 30,000 visits per month today when everyone actually has a computer. How many people actually had a home computer and a modem 30 years ago? According to WikiPedia only 621,000 home computers were in use in 1982!
