I shadowed Traffic and Signal engineers in their day-to-day tasks, learning as much as possible along the way. Sometimes I would ride along with the engineers to work sites for inspections or traffic studies. When I was in my own office, I was assisting engineers and technicians with data collection and management, and reviewing ongoing studies. I made multiple trips out with the sign crews in Northern Mississippi, where there are a lot of old signs to replace.I spent two weeks in the Materials Division, mainly helping in the soils laboratory. (I was able to run proctor tests, Atterberg limits, hydrometers, specific gravity, and a number of other tests under the supervision of technicians).

I handled monetary transactions for guests as they completed their shopping in our store. I practiced great care when handling money and groceries, and always provided a friendly service to our guests. The goal is to have guests return as repeat customers. We always work to serve guests as well as possible, going beyond job duties sometimes can be quite rewarding! I operated the fuel center occasionally, always following the rules and guidelines strictly. It was my duty to ensure that the environment was safe, clean, and representative of a thriving place of business.
