Analysing large amounts of written material and forming balanced, well-reasoned decisions, in line with FOS guidance and processes.Actively managing personal caseload by organising work load, prioritising in line with case age and consumer need, and managing financial businesses’ and consumers’ expectations with regard to outcome and timescale.

Investigating disputes between banks, credit card companies and their customers; weighing up the evidence from both sides; forming fair, reasonable and impartial opinions. Consistently meeting – and exceeding – financial targets for both case assessments (written opinions) and closures, for nearly two years. Carrying out “Quality Assurance” checks on colleagues’ work, which involved reviewing their understanding of complaints, and providing feedback / coaching where appropriate. I was chosen for this because my work was recognised as being amongst the highest quality in the department. Implementing discrete projects – “Flexible Loans”; “scam cases” – which involved investigating complaints with high visibility which carried potential reputational risks; these required very close attention to detail, and excellent phone manner.
