• Primary System Firmware/BIOS developer for two ProLiant Rack Servers, two ProLiant Blade Servers and one Apollo Rack Server. In addition, assisted with the BIOS development/debug of four other ProLiant Rack Servers, and one other Blade Server product –a mix of 2-, 4-, and 8-processor Servers and Blade products, and a mix of AMD x64 and Intel processors.• Some server BIOSes were written in just x86 Assembly, some in both x86 Assembly and C language, and some in just C language.• Debugged several 3rd-Party Reference Code issues with the 3rd-Party chipsets and PCI-Express support and worked with Vendor to resolve; the majority of the debugging was conducted through a hardware debug tool (xDT) and debug scripts.

• Primary developer for the PCI-Express driver and application code for the PCI-Express x1/x4 Test cards and PCI-Express validation tests for the Windows Meatgrinder Test Tool. Used throughout Compaq/HP to validate - ALL of Compaq’s/HP’s products, from laptops to servers, to ensure that quality products were shipped to Compaq’s/HP’s customers.

• Primary developer who supported the NetWare MPS 1.4 and ACPI Platform Support Modules (PSMs) device drivers. Facilitated multi-processing, multi-tasking and APIC interrupt routing in the NetWare environment - required for Compaq’s/HP’s NetWare customers to utilize multiple processors. Enabled Compaq/HP to up-sell larger servers with 2-, 4-, and 8-processors installed. Resulted in increased revenue by tens of thousands of dollars.• Developed and debugged numerous NetWare Test Tools to verify multi-tasking, >4GB memory support, and IO stress testing to ensure a quality product for Compaq’s/HP’s customers. (NetWare Debugger only supports an x86 assembly interface, required detailed understanding of x86 assembly, the system hardware, stack/raw memory dumps, hardware and software breakpoints, and a limited number of registers.) Tools and knowledge/experience significantly contributed to products being shipped on-schedule helping maintain product revenue goals.
