Partnered with friends to found COBURWAS International Youth Organization to Transform Africa, commonly known as CIYOTA is a community based not-for-profit refugee-education organization. CIYOTA seeks to transform Africa by providing access to quality education for conflict-affected children, empowering socially responsible leaders and entrepreneurs to unite communities and create sustainable peace, love and prosperity.Led the team for mobilizing the youth and the community members, setting strategy and direction, creating the organization’ s constitution, bylaws, logo, culture, policies and electing and working with the executive team to design and launch the programs.Spearheaded the legal registration of CIYOTA organization and schools and bank accounts opening. Promoted the organization’ s policies and standards, and ensured that laws and regulations are being followed. Built and managed organization membership system. Negotiated with the Office of Prime Minister, Refugee Department Uganda government to secure free land where CIYOTA schools and guest houses are constructed and where students are empowered to practice agricultural projects.I used my $10 birthday gift to buy the first iron sheet and inspired the starting of COBURWAS schools. I managed CIYOTA day-to-day operations to ensure they are efficient and effective. Worked closely with the executive team to achieve organization objectives. I was responsible for overseeing the work and schedules of departmental and school heads hiring and training them, and conducting performance evaluations. Developed long-term operational strategies and ensuring operational activities align with the overall organization strategy. Optimized the use of human, financial, and material resources to maximize productivity and reduce costs. Implemented employee policies and ensured everyone is following them.
