I taught Latin at St. Joseph's Catholic School, a parish school in the city of Long Beach. I teach a curriculum that uses Comprehensible Input, immersion, reading and grammar teaching. We follow Minimus and the Cambridge Latin course.

I taught all levels of Latin at Westlake High School, a comprehensive public high school in south Atlanta servicing a broad geographic area covering rural, suburban, and urban areas. I taught a curriculum that was student led in the lower levels, using elements of Comprehensible Input, immersion, reading, and grammar teaching. In upper levels, I used embedded reading strategies and grammar instruction in order to get students to read original Latin authors on the county board of education's course syllabus. I spoke Latin with all students in order to provide context, personalization, and literacy strategies.In addition to teaching duties, I started a Junior Classical League chapter. In spite of high student transiency, we have maintained steady at 20 members. Students developed their own traditions within our chapter's JCL, including barbecues, Saturnalia festivities, and community service opportunities.I have trained teachers county-wide about common core. I instructed all foreign language teachers in south Fulton County what the standards are, what the school district expects, and how to incorporate them into a real classroom in south Fulton County.I have also developed curriculum, standardized tests, and student learning outcomes for Latin for the Fulton County Board of education.

I taught all levels of Latin (Level I-AP) at Woodbridge High School. In addition, I sponsored the largest Junior Classical League chapter in California, coached their Certamen teams after school 3 days per week and advised other clubs.I expanded my professional horizons while at IUSD. I successfully integrated limited use of modern language acquisition methodologies with an academically demanding demanding existing curriculum at Woodbridge. In addition, I learned how to reach all students in large classes (30-40+). It is also worth mentioning that I taught the largest AP Latin program in California at the time, leading students to success on the AP exam.

At Crossroads, I taught CAS-Greek, Greek 4, Latin 1, & Latin 4 classes. Crossroads provided me with immense academic freedom and an expectation that I differentiate for all learners. It was here where I first began to experiment with personalizing curriculum and readings in order to reach students better. I also helped as a substitute teacher for other teachers in the Classics department and assisted our upper school Junior Classical League advisor, James Meyer, with running our chapter.
