As a senior advisor, I provide strategic counsel on ANSTO's engagement with a wide range of domestic and international stakeholders, playing a key role in policy development, strategic decision-making, and high-level discussions.I collaborate closely with various Australian Government departments, including the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (PMC), the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Department of Defence, Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR), the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA), the Australian Radioactive Waste Agency (ARWA), and the Australian Safeguards and Non-Proliferation Office (ASNO).In addition, I oversee ANSTO's bilateral relationships, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia and the Pacific, while also serving as a primary liaison for multilateral partnerships. These include collaborations through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), the Regional Cooperative Agreement for Research, Development and Training in Nuclear Science and Technology for Asia and the Pacific (RCA), and the Forum of Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA).I am also responsible for the negotiation, coordination, and strategic oversight of the IAEA-ANSTO Collaborating Centre.

After the 2019 NSW State Election, I was promoted to the role of Senior Electorate Officer, in the office of the State Member for Holsworthy (who had also served some time as Parliamentary Secretary to the Attorney General and for Families, Disability and Emergency Services). I continued to partake in tasks outlined within the Electorate Officer role (below), with additional responsibilities for the day to day management of the Electorate Office, including supervision of the other Electorate Officers and Short Term Relief Staff. This role also provided me with the opportunity to manage office expenditure within the limits and guidelines as prescribed by Parliament.

In 2015, I started working for the State Member for Holsworthy (Deputy Government Whip and Chair of the Children and Young People Committee). During this time I was primarily responsible for communications (media relations, print, digital and social), speech writing; constituent and ministerial correspondence for the Member, diary management, organising Ministerial visits and community outreach.Throughout my time in this role, I have researched for and written hundreds of speeches for the Member - including writing in formal tones, such as researching and writing complex legislation speeches, to less formal tones, such as one minute Community Recognition Statements congratulating members of the community; five minute Private Member Statements on specific issues important to the electorate; and, speeches for the Member to present at community events.Most importantly, as the primary person in the team responsible for communications, I ran successful local public relations campaigns aimed at gaining support for many different initiatives; dealt with local and state based media; and, also managed all of the Member’s social media channels (utilising picture based, text based and video based content) primarily through Facebook and Instagram.Additionally, I also designed the Member’s print and digital based communication materials - teaching myself and utilising InDesign and Canva - including materials such as social media posts, invitations, issue based flyers and newsletters.

Sutherland Shire

Elected at the 2016 Local Government elections, I was responsible for advocating on behalf of thousands of residents within my ward and across the Sutherland Shire.During my term, I was able to build strong relationships with internal staff, local media and community organisations.Between 2016 and 2018, I was elected by the Council to serve as the Chair of the Shire Services Committee, which deals with issues relating to ensuring a high quality of life for all members of the community and provides advice and support in the planning and development of facilities to meet the needs of our diverse population, and manages the assessment of the community grants before being approved at a full Council meeting.From 2018 to 2020 I was elected to serve as the Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee, which looks after the budgetary and financial direction of Council, as well as supporting the success of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework goals and objectives through the provision of strategic direction and informed decision making. Additionally, in 2019, I was elected the inaugural chair of the Arts and Culture Sub-Committee, which brought together many community groups in this space, to improve this sector within our Council area.

I was elected, and served a one year term, as the Junior Vice President of the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC). This is an association of 11 councils spanning Sydney’s southern suburbs, eastern suburbs, CBD, and inner west and covering a third of Greater Sydney’s population, or 1.7m people. SSROC provides a forum through which the member councils can interact, exchange ideas and work collaboratively to solve regional issues and contribute to the future sustainability of the region.
