Profile bio

About Daniel Olmstead

For nearly three decades, I have worked closely with virtually any type of computer from the days of MS-DOS all the way up to present-day Windows 10. Additionally, I have worked closely with computer users of all skill levels, whether they are using a computer for the very first time or have decades more experience than myself. I've enjoyed working with them all immensely.Along with above-mentioned operating systems, I've also worked quite closely with various Microsoft programs/applications along the way, including:- All Microsoft Office related program iterations spanning Office 95 - Office 2019/Office 365/Google Suite- Command prompt [safe mode, BIOS, etc.]- Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Oracle [ERP inventory software; includes desktop/mobile beta testing/troubleshooting for crew/warehouse in general]- Other basic Windows essentials [Notepad, Calculator, Defrag, etc.]- Media editing software [Adobe Premiere/Photoshop, Sony Vegas, etc.]Despite my work history not yet including an IT related position, I was often relied upon for troubleshooting a multitude of PC related issues that occurred within my workplace. I enjoyed bringing said additional skill sets to my department and being able to resolve any budding issues before they became large enough to cost my colleagues a lot of time or additional work. I truly enjoyed acting as a sort of unofficial in-department IT support and am always happy to step up when I know I can help in areas that may not relate to my official position. Adding value and ease of use of our system for my co-workers brings me a great sense of accomplishment.A high level of work ethic is very important to me in any position I hold. I also pride myself in my near-perfect attendance record and that coupled with said work ethic, these qualities consistently exemplify my reliability. Building trust between myself and my company/department is always a high priority for me, as is learning new skills of any type. From IT-related to people skills, continuous life-long learning is incredibly important to me.My almost ten years of experience working within my department to address and resolve numerous IT-style issues has brought to light for me that it is time to direct my attention to a career path in the IT field. I very much look forward to beginning that journey and seeing just how much I can achieve for both the company I work with and myself as well. I am an extremely motivated, detail obsessed professional who is excited to join an innovative environment that I can be proud to be a part of.
