I served as an aide of the Senator, regularly being a representative of him in meeting, articulating positions to and hearing concerns of constituents and lobbyists on budgetary and policy issues. I attentively reviewed, documented, and responded to communications from over 150 constituents per week. I managed multiple casework items and projects at the same time. I researched the legal background and policy issues to create briefs on pieces of legislation before the Senate.

I oversaw three targeted legislative races in the 6th LD, suburbs of Spokane that extend into the rural West Plains. I recruited and trained volunteers to canvass a large geographic area. I assisted the creation of communication strategies individualized to candidates’ strengths to target nontraditional Democratic voters. I coordinated between multiple campaigns to be efficient in our outreach to the electorate.

I provided technology support for students, faulty, or staff on a variety of platforms. I work with clients daily and ask relavent questions in order to diagnose their issues quickly and effectively.

I am a voting member of the disciplinary body that makes rulings on student infractions of school's grievance policy. I train trained yearly on sexual and workplace based harassment according to national standards in order better adjudicate on such issues.

I am a member of the committee that discusses and recommends solutions on non academic, non disciplinary issues at Whitman College with Faulty, administrators and other students. Recently we have been asked by the President of the College to review the Summer Read program and to make recommendations about its future.

I independently researched affordable housing in Walla Walla using data and interviews and corresponded with cities across Washington to create a complete understanding of the affordable housing issue. I wrote informative pieces for the public at large and public officials about the issue. These pieces, linked, led me to be offered an expanded research position. In this new position I work closely with public officials to build a community survey to gage support and understanding of affordable housing legislation because of my expertise on the issue.

I work to build a community within my organization, across Whitman's campus, and throughout Walla Walla. I act as a liaison between the Greek community, the Sigma Chi National Organization, collegiate members and the Whitman College administration to communicate concerns and create dialogue between parties. I plan and lead entire Chapter meetings (45+ members) and Chapter Management Team meetings on a weekly basis (8+ members) in order to work toward our strategic goals. I assisted in developing and implementing a sexual assault reporting system within the Greek community in collaboration with the Associate Dean that is now a model for other schools.

I worked in the District Office of Congressman Heck, answering phone calls and walk-in guests. I worked on letters to constituents and government agencies on behalf of the congressman. I attended meetings with staff and constituents and the Congressman and local leaders in order to learn about policy in action.

I worked in the District Office of Senator Murray addressing the concerns and wants of constituents over the phone and in person through maintaining a professional office setting and creating a positive working environment. I assisted staff members with constituent projects, such as researching the administrative systems of health companies to establish legal contacts for staff members.

I engaged with voters through door to door campaigning in order to hear their concerns and speak on behalf of the candidate. I worked to be knowledgeable on the issues and positions of the candidate.
