Accession, catalog, and photograph acquired artifacts, and enter data into the museum’s collections database. Manage the museum’s database, Vernon CMS, keeping artifact location and exhibit records up to date and running artifact queries and reports when necessary.Apply preventative conservation to the museum’s collection of approximately 10,000 artifacts, appraise condition of artifacts for exhibition, and monitor the environment of the off-site storage space. Safely transport artifacts to and from the off-site storage space using proper handling techniques. Facilitate artifact loans from other historical institutions, including condition reporting, insurance coverage, and shipment. Assist in installation and disassembly of 3-4 temporary exhibits per year, and facilitate the shipping and logistics of incoming and outgoing traveling exhibits. Conduct research to enhance exhibits, including queries into the museum’s collection and inquiring with other historical institutions. Provide reference assistance to the general public concerning the history of Elmhurst or on the topic of the temporary exhibit.

Took accountability photographs according to acceptable museum practices and NARA guidelines. Fabricated artifact storage mounts for a wide variety of artifacts and encapsulated archival materials. As the editor-in-chief of the Lighter, Valparaiso University's student-run art and literary journal, my responsibilities included organizing content selection committees, setting production deadlines, managing a budget, proofreading the issues, advertising, and working with a publisher to get the journal printed. I held this position for the duration of my senior year. Prior to this position, I was the assistant editor, where I aided in many of the responsibilities previously mentioned.

Assisted the Special Collections Librarian when necessary with filing, archiving, and scanning documents. I also processed historical and genealogical reference requests for inquiring patrons.
