  • Aol
    General Manager, Aol-Hpmg Video
    Aol Mar 2010 - Aug 2011
    New York, Ny, Us
I managed the rebuilding of AOL's video business on owned and operated sites, including The Huffington Post, Engadget, TechCrunch, Moviefone, AOL Music, AOL Video and more. In July 2010, AOL Video was ranked #13 by Comscore with 23.5M UVs. By March 2011, we'd grown to #2 with 57M UVs, behind only YouTube. Monthly streams were up >5x in that time. Revenue grew from near-zero to $30M in under two years.Initially, started as a member of a small team brought on to chart a strategic direction for AOL's Media business in the wake of the spin-off from Time Warner. It became clear video needed to be a more substantial element of the strategy as the web shifted from text-based to rich content. So, I transitioned focus to guiding reinvestment in the video business and building the team, including working to integrate the 5Min Media, Studio Now and Truveo teams with the broader AOL Media organization.
  • Bridesview
    Ceo, Co-Founder
    Bridesview 2011 - 2012
BridesView.com was built to provide a better way for Brides to plan, craft and share their perfect day. We saw rapid consumer adoption as we focused on building virality through visual social networks, but failed to find a fast enough path to monetization to believe a substantial business could be built. My co-founder, Alex, and I decided to move on, shifting to a different project applying what we'd learned about social marketing. That project would later become Tailwind.
