🐍 Passionated by reptiles since a very young age I decided to study Biology to approach a job that includes wild animals interaction;🔬 Achieved a wide knowledge about all the large spectrum of life forms with my bachelor's, from micro until the macro scale;☣️ I'm currently completing my master's degree in biochemistry, with an emphasis on immunochemistry, the aim of which is to investigate the potential beneficial properties of a snake venom;

  Mobility internship abroad derived from the Master's Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Coimbra.Given my enormous interest in ophidic venoms, Brazil is a set of very rich ecosystems in this field, the Butantan Institute has been a historical reference for over a century, and the Laboratory of Immunochemistry stands out for the quality of its research and researchers and the close interaction with the toxins.Throughout this internship I am working:- On the mechanisms of action of animal venoms, analysing their biological, biochemical and molecular activities;- On the biochemical and biological activities of components of the immune system, evaluating their role during envenomations; • Aiming to propose complementary therapeutic targets and new tools for the study of toxins or, in the best scenario, establishing new therapies for envenomations and new drugs for the treatment of immune-mediated diseases.
