- Without guidance, assume sole ownership of C++ embedded applications and customized buildroot system- Modernize software processes with standard GNU development tools and self-designed SVN version control scheme, auditable release scripts for repeatable builds, and custom JIRA issue tracker development workflow- Design, implement, and validate automatic machine vision calibration system, improving product's positional accuracy beyond human acuity and reducing worst case calibration time by 97% (8 hours to 15 minutes)- Add new feature to SHARC DSP assembly code to prevent mechanical problems on deployed field units- Develop Python scripts to automatically test, recreate, and debug sporadic customer issues with Modbus communications- Migrate entire 10+ year old embedded software stack to modern versions in response to customer needs- Document subsystems, interfaces, and behaviors on Confluence wiki for technical and non-technical readers- Create high-fidelity electromechanical linear systems simulation to predict performance and find bottlenecks - Perform cross-functional systems engineering tasks utilizing electrical schematics; instruments e.g., DMM, mixed-signal oscilloscope, JTAG hardware debugger; mechanical analyses; assembly team feedback- Interface with management, customers, and customer support to understand business constraints and customer needs, evolve feature requirements, diagnose problems, define development schedules, deliver regular status updates, and provide prioritization and technical guidance to other engineers and external consultants
