Homeworld Collective is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves the needs of the growing climate biotech community. Our mission is to help climate biotech become a hyper-productive field, drawing lessons from exemplars like medical biotechnology and machine learning. Homeworld’s three focus areas are to 1) foster a robust community across researchers, entrepreneurs and stakeholders, 2) publish and fund roadmaps, gap analyses and technical guides to impact, and 3) fund early-stage impactful technology development and translatable research.

The goal of the Synthetic Neurobiology group, headed by Professor Ed Boyden, is "to invent, and apply, technologies that enable the systematic mapping and repair of the brain and other complex biological systems."​ My efforts here are to contribute to the cutting-edge of neuroengineering while completing my PhD. The core of my thesis, Expansion Sequencing, was published in Science in 2021: https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aax2656 Additional work was published in Cell, Nature Biotechnology and Nucleic Acids Research

Worked under Professor Sebastian Seung at Princeton at what is now called the Flatiron Institute, funded by the Simons Foundation. We conducted novel research in neural circuits and connectomics while creating computational tools for the larger scientific community to share. This resulted in one paper, (A technology called SWITCH, published at Murray et al 2015 in Cell) and a software insight that was later used in Piatkevich et al 2018 in Nature Biotechnology.

We built mobile products to harness the power of the data we create in our daily lives. Our first product, a mobile app called MileIQ, automatically logs every mile that a person drives. MileIQ was carefully and iteratively designed with the business traveler in mind, and we are proud to say that we built a product from the ground-up that people truly love, as evidenced by thousands of 5-star reviews.As the founding CTO, it was my responsibility to architect the full stack (mobile app, web app and data services) for both scale and rapid product iteration. I am still involved with MDL as an advisor.Since inception, Mobile Data Labs has raised $15MM from top-tier venture firms Charles River Ventures and Trinity Ventures, as well as notable angels Mark Benioff and SV Angel.In November 2015 Mobile Data Labs was acquired by Microsoft: with many natural synergies between the two companies, everybody is thrilled for the road ahead.

StartX is a non-profit organization whose mission is to accelerate the development of Stanford's top entrepreneurs through experiential education.

Worked with the amazing people at IDEO to explore opportunities outside of the conventional consulting model. I had three primary initiatives: 1) Grow IDEO's mobile presence by building a team, expanding existing portfolio, and establishing new partnerships2) Explore the interface with startups to see how we might best help young companies achieve their potential3) Identify, evaluate and pursue venture opportunities
